Manchester’s varsity wrestling team proved to be one of the best teams in Michigan in Division 4 (currently ranked 4th in D4) Wednesday night as it put on a dominating performance against the visiting Panthers, winning 11 of the 14 weight classes and taking the dual by a final score of 15-59.

Addison would respond in the second dual of the night, coming back from an early deficit to take down Melvindale, 48-34.

The end of the dual with Manchester marked the end of the conference dual meet season, with the Panthers finishing in 3rd place after a 5-2 conference record. Addison will have a chance to improve on its 3rd place standing in the individual conference tournament next Friday evening (Feb. 7) at Grass Lake High School.

But first, Addison will send six wrestlers to Adrian College this Friday night (Jan. 31) for the Lenawee County Championships. Those wrestlers honored with an invite are Cody Knutson (119 lbs.), Jannya Boorman (125 lbs), Brendan Ford (130 lbs), Nathan Rodlund (140 lbs), Nick Trumble (160 lbs), and Aidan Frost (215 lbs.). These 6 Panthers are ranked in the top 4 in the county in their respective weight classes and will get the opportunity to compete against the other top three for a county championship. Wrestling is set to begin at 5:00pm at Adrian College performance gym.
