Addison boys cross country team is headed to the state finals at Michigan International Speedway next Saturday. The boys finished 3rd today at the Division 34-4 regional race at Hudson High School. It has been a goal all season long for these guys. To quality as a team. They were not concerned about qualifying individually, the goal all summer long and coming into the season was qualifying together as a team. They put in the miles this summer and the work all season long and earned this trip to the state finals today at Hudson High school. As a coach I couldn’t be happier for these 12 guys to get to experience this journey together.
Zach Morse led the Panthers, qualifying for a fourth straight year for the state finals. Morse finished in 2nd place behind regional champ Hunter Adams of Lenawee Christian. Morse finished in 17:36. Matt Poling ran a great race, individually qualifying, medaling and coming in 13th place. Poling finished with a time of 18:20, 5 seconds off from a PR. Zach Steiner and Kenny Jarchow ran the race working together from start to finish. Steiner finished in 25th place in 19:09 and Jarchow finished in 27th place in 19:11. Josh Brown finished the race with a huge kick, passing 4 runners in the last 300 meters. Brown ran a 19:44 and finished in 37th place. Lucas Day was our 6th runner across the line in 22:18 with Gavin McAndrews behind him, finishing in 23:05.
The boys will run next Saturday in Brooklyn at the Michigan International Speedway. The race starts at 9:30AM. We should love to see you out there too support and cheer on the guys team.
