The ladies track team came out yesterday, despite the horrible wind of over 30mph, and put up some tremendous results. Not only did the lady panthers medal in every single event, they finished just shy of 1st place with a score of 181. Falling to Sand Creek who finished with 190. The next closest score was Blissfield with 54 points. Below are some of the highlights of the evening (*note the results have not yet been posted but when they are the next couple days I will update this):
Gina Hanson jumped a PR of 4’10 in high jump. Also ran a personal best in the 100 hurdles with a finish of 19.6.
Ally McLouth finished in 1st place in all of her events. She jumped a season best in long jump of 16’4, ran a 15.4 in the 100 hurdles and a 48.8 in the 300 hurdles, she also anchored the 4×400 relay which also finished in 1st place.
Alexis Chapman ran an impressive and close 100 dash, running a PR of 13.2. She also anchored the 4×200 relay which also finished in 1st place.
Momoka Sekishita finished in 2nd place in the mile with a time of 7:02, earning herself a medal.
Abby Zacharias and Marguerite Gootee both cleared opening height in pole vault for the first time also, clearing 6’0.
Courtney Flaws finished in 1st place in the 400 dash, with a time of 1:12.9, while Emily Bayes was just behind her finishing 2nd with a time of 1:13.8.
Emily Knight scored in high jump with a jump of 4’6 and also finished in 1st place in her 800 run with a time of 2:56.1.
Adrienne Corbin finished in 1st place in discus with a throw of 90’9.
The wind was truly brutal, however these girls didn’t let it stop them from achieving more than 30 PR’s. Each one contributed in their own way to this awesome finish. Congratulations ladies on your awesome meet! Coach is proud.
