Game Recap

The Addison Panther Middle School football team dominated both sides of the ball Wednesday night against the Trojans of East Jackson with a score of 50 to 6 bringing their season record to 4 wins and 1 loss. The Panthers had success running the ball right away against the Trojans. The Panthers first three offensive plays were all touchdowns. The first and second came on the same play from Donovan Young on touchdown runs of 56 and 51 yards. The first 2-point conversion try failed on a pass attempt from Nathan Sines to Nick Bowditch, but the second was a success on a run around the end by Sines. The third touchdown came on a 47 yard run by Bowditch on a counter play, with Dylan Sawdey punching in the 2-point conversion. Bowditch also scored the fourth touchdown of the night on a 17 yard run, but the conversion attempt failed. Again in the third quarter Young broke loose on a 79 yard touchdown run followed by Keelan Mullin adding the 2-point conversion. The next score came from the Panther defense as Kobe Farrow stripped the ball and emerged out of a pile running 52 yards the opposite direction for a touchdown. The final Panther touchdown on the evening came after the Trojans only score when Farrow again returned the kick-off 62 yards for his 3rd return touchdown of the season. Bubba Howard added the final two point conversion of the game.
The Panther defense handled their business throughout the game as well rarely letting the Trojans reach the line of scrimmage. Wyatt Powell and Sebastian Turner were each responsible for a Panther sack, while many other Panthers helped and made tackles in the back field of their own. The lone Trojan touchdown came on a broken play that ended up being bounced outside for a score. In the waning seconds of the game Sines was able to intercept a pass to end the game.
The Panthers will be back in action next Tuesday, at 5:00 pm, at home for their final competition of the season.
