Game Recap

The Addison Middle School Football team started their season out with a roaring 44-12 win at Manchester against the Flying Dutchmen. Nick Bowditch started out the scoring for the Panthers with a touchdown plunge from the 5 yard line and Donovan young followed up with the 2 point conversion. In the second quarter the Panthers scored two more touchdowns; one from 3 yards out by Noah Wilson and one from 47 yards out by Young. Nate sines was able to run in the 2 point conversion on the latter of the two touchdowns before the half. The Panthers came out firing again in the second half scoring 3 more touchdowns. Another 7 yard touchdown from Bowditch and a 2 point conversion by Wilson. Then another long touchdown scamper from 60 yards out by Young followed by a 2 point punch from Hunter Bertram. The scoring for the Panthers was finished off by Keelan Mullin on a 60 yard trap play.

The Panthers defense looked stout on this evening putting constant pressure on the Dutchmen quarterback and making many tackles for losses. The lone turnover of the game came on an interception by Young on a Manchester 2 point try. The Panther defensive line and linebackers spent a majority of their night in the dutch backfield while the defensive backs did a wonderful job smothering receivers and making touchdown saving tackles.

The Panthers will be back in action next week at Vandercook Lake against the Middle School Jayhawks. The Jayhawks were able to find an opponent for their 7th grade team so the Panthers will play in Vandercook following that game at approximately 5:30 P.M.
