Ally came in to the state meet ranked in first place in the long jump. As the morning went on, she just felt a little off. Something just didn’t seem right. Her best jump through preliminaries was a 15’10, which wasn’t her best, but it was enough to get her to the finals for 3 more jumps. A fresh start in the finals, Ally was determined to turn it around and end on top. She did just that. Her last and final jump placed her far beyond the other competitors with a winning jump of 17’0.25″. 6 inches ahead of the next athlete. This is the first time this season that Ally has jumped over 17’0. When it mattered most. Congratulations to Ally, for a great season and an even better ending.
Ally also earned All-State honors in both the 800 relay and 1600 relay.
