Girls Middle School Track, Girls Varsity Track · Addison Track & Field Lady Panthers finish 3rd place at the Conference meet

What a phenomenal day the Addison girls track team had tonight. Walking onto the track at Napoleon high school, we had high expectations going into our Cascades Conference meet. We knew our distances, jumps and times we needed to achieve. The girls came out today and blew out of the water those expectations and goals that we had set for ourselves. They really pushed and it showed with their finish. Addison girls finished in 3rd place with a total of 80.33 points, just shy of a 2nd place finish behind Manchester who had a point total of 81. The celebrations and the pride that these girls had were pretty loud as this is the highest finish in our conference that we’ve had in more than 8 years. Below is a highlight and some shout outs for some pretty outstanding performances:

Haley Wilkes finished in 2nd place in the 3200 with a PR of 12:42.78, she finished 5th in the mile with a time of 5:56.7 and tied her PR of 4’6 in HJ.

Ally McLouth had quite a day. Ally finished with 3 conference championship medals in the 100 and 300 hurdles and the anchor of the 1600 relay. Ally ran a PR time of 16.89 in the 100 hurdles and 46.82 in the 300 hurdles. She also broke the conference meet record in the 300 hurdles that has been held since 2004.

Kayla Rutan also had a great day. She finished 5th in the 100 hurdles with a PR time of 17.97 and a huge PR in the 300 hurdles with a time of 53.36.

Adrienne Corbin finished in 2nd place, earning her team some points and herself a medal with a PR throw of 87’6″.

Alexis Zacharias finished in 4th place in the 200 dash with a time of 27.64 and also was the lead leg in all of our sprint relays.

Courtney Flaws earned herself a 5th place finish and scored points for her team in the 400 dash with a time of 1:07.7.

Paige Bernath had a PR today as well and finished tied for 6th place in the pole vault with a jump of 6’6″.

The 400 relay with Alexis Zacharias, Alivia Magnus, Morgan Fletcher and Sarah Defay finished in 2nd place with a time of 53.97.

The 800 relay with Alexis Zacharias, Courtney Flaws, Morgan Fletcher and Alivia Magnus finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:51.92.

The 1600 relay with Alexis Zacharias, Courtney Flaws, Morgan Fletcher and Ally McLouth finished as conference champions with a winning time of 4:15.7.

Other shout outs for an awesome day was Christina Bailey who ran a huge PR in the 300 hurdles with a time of 55.31. Morgan Fletcher ran a PR in her 200 m. dash with a time of 28.89. Natalie Zysk also had a PR today throwing a distance of 76’2″ in the discus.

These girls continue to get better and better and set the bar higher and higher. And they have earned it every step of the way. Saturday we will be competing as a team at the MITCA team state finals in Manton, MI (just north of Cadillac). Wish us luck as we go make our community proud.

Go PANTHERS and CONGRATULATIONS ladies. You have made this coach extremely proud; each and every one of you.
